- The Book Covers For You design team.
What genres do you work in?
We work in all genres and make a point to stay familiar with market trends and cover conventions for each category.
What is your availability?
Availability depends on our level of existing bookings and what services you require. Please get in touch, and we’ll be happy to fit you into our schedule.
How does the custom cover design process work?
After you get in touch, we will discuss your requirements and set a date in our schedule for delivery. Then, we’ll send along a detailed questionnaire to ensure we understand exactly what you’re looking for. Based on the information you provide, we will create 2-3 cover concepts and send them to you for review. Once you choose your preferred concept, we will complete up to three rounds of revisions based on your feedback to create the perfect final cover for your book.
Formatting: £60 for either e-book or paperback. £100 for both.
If you have something other than the above services in mind, please get in touch, and we can discuss pricing.
How does payment work?
For custom designs, we require a 50% deposit upfront. Once you’re happy with your designs and have approved the final look, we will deliver the finished cover files as soon as we receive the remaining 50%.
Pre-made designs are paid in full once ordered from our online store, and the final files will be delivered to you within 5-7 business days for approval.
For formatting, no upfront deposit is required. Once you’re happy with the final look, we will deliver the finished files after we receive full payment.
What’s the turnaround time for cover design and formatting?
Design work takes time, and we put a lot of research and thought into each project we take on. Our general turn-around is around 2-4 weeks, but this can vary from project to project and depends on our current schedule and availability. Please get in touch, and we can discuss your requirements and available time slots. If you find yourself on a tight schedule, we’ll do all we can to squeeze you in between our current projects when possible to help you out.
Can I order an e-book cover now and upgrade to a print cover later?
Yes. If you decide you want a paperback version of your design, we can create it for you at a later date.
Should I wait until I have a final page count to order my print book?
We can design your paperback with an estimated page count and then resize the spine dimensions once you have the final page count.
What if I want to change text or art on the cover after payment and final delivery?
If you want to make any changes to your cover after final payment and delivery, we can certainly help you out for an additional fee.
What if I decide to change back cover text/trim size/page count after I get the final paperback cover?
If you want to make any changes to your paperback after final payment and delivery, we can certainly help you out for an additional fee.
Why does the printed copy of my book appear slightly different in color and brightness compared to how it looks on-screen?
Printers always produce slightly different colors compared to those seen on screen. This is because screens are capable of displaying many more colors compare to those available for printed press. As the majority of book sales are now in e-book, we always design our covers to make sure they look the best they can on-screen while still retaining a print-ready quality, even though they won’t be a 100% color match.
What if I have a detailed description of a character I want to see reflected on the cover?
Detailed character designs such as specific clothing, facial expressions, accessories, etc. may not always be possible on a design level, though we will always try to accommodate. Most cover designers work with stock imagery, and it may suit you better to commission an illustrator or studio photographer for a custom photo shoot.
